ENERGY TAX CREDITS FOR GARAGE DOORS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED!

 

Door Boy has been informed by DASMA (Door and Access Systems Manufacturing Association) that tax credits are available to homeowners who install insulated garage doors in 2009-2010.  These credits were approved by congress in the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 and expanded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

 

Now there's a reason to spend some money to improve your home, and reduce your tax bill!   

 

What are the specifics? 

 

Door Requirements:

           Doors must meet maximum U-factor of .30 and limit air infiltration,

Residence Requirements:        

           Installed in primary residence and the garage space must be insulated. 

Documentation Required for Credit:

           Manufacturer’s Certification Statement (Enclosed).    

           Receipt from installing company indicating material cost of the product.               

Maximum credit available is $1500 (30% of the total material cost).
